Politics…

Posted by thecrookedmailbox on 18 February 2008

There is a bill waiting to passed in Idaho right now that would allow illegal immigrants access to University Study.  Illegal immigrants.  The news story mentioned that the bill wasn’t being received well.  Big surprise.  Why would we want immigrants who are in our country illegally going to our universities?  It is beyond my understanding.

It looks as if the race for the Presidency is going to be between McCain and/or Clinton/Obama.  I think all ardent Republicans need to brace for the fact that the oval office is about to be inhabited by a democrat.  There is no way McCain has the clout to beat either of the democratic candidates.  Both are too savvy with their words, and let’s face it.  Americans aren’t concerned about the real issues, we’re a country doomed with ignorance and most americans lack the capability to reason logically.  To be honest, I would rather vote for Clinton or Obama over McCain any day… (don’t be too harsh, it’s just my opinion)

Considering politics, I am finishing up the book 1776.  My history professor wants a 4 page review.  He is looking for consistent patterns between the politics of our forefathers and the present day political arena.  I understand the nostalgia most people experience when thinking of our great country and how it was founded.  What I don’t understand is how to put that into writing that will get me an “A” on this paper.

In addition to that, I have to write a 10 page ethnography.  People…I don’t care how groups of individuals behave!  I have a hard enough time figuring out how I behave, let alone watching other people, picking out their idiosyncrasies and then writing about it!  And remember last semester when I didn’t have midterms or finals?  Well, this semester I do.  I have two big tests that make up most of my grade for the semester.

I am horrible test taker!  Ahhh…school…got to love it!

little bit of irony to go with your morning coffee:
“I don’t care how groups of individuals behave!”

“I understand the nostalgia most people experience when thinking of our great country and how it was founded.”

“Americans aren’t concerned about the real issues, we’re a country doomed with ignorance and most americans lack the capability to reason logically.”

See? It’s not that hard :)

Ugh? I totally missed your point. Yes, I plead ignorance.

Just pointing out that in that post where you claim not to care how groups of individuals behave you describe your own analysis of the behaviors of 2 groups of people.

Ethnography is something we do all the time, just not formally.
