The Best Movie:

Posted by thecrookedmailbox on 30 January 2008

Pulp Fiction.

Does anyone disagree?  It is a combination of fubar circumstances mixed with intelligence.

F*_@k Pride!  You fight through that S_&*t!  In the fifth your A__ goes down!  Pride always hurts, it never helps.

Does there seem to be a theological theme behind this?

What do you think?

I contend!

Posted by thecrookedmailbox on 27 January 2008

There is nothing more profitable to a marriage than playing Halo.  (Except of course prayer)  Outside of the spiritual realm, Halo beats all.  I mean seriously, you can kill each other, beat up on another and search for weapons together taking on the universe in unison.  What is better than this?

Have aggression?  Feel like you could choke your husband?  Buy and XBOX 360 and the old saying “all is fair in love and war” becomes a phrase entirely all to real.  By then end of play time, you’re both laughing and ready to give one another a make-up kiss.

What is the moral of the story you may ask?  Women, become interested in what your husband is.  Even if it isn’t that fun.  End the end, you may find enjoyment and you have honored God by pleasing your husband.  And no, I don’t mean in the bedroom….

Does anyone know…

Posted by thecrookedmailbox on 27 January 2008

what mead, vampires, soul gems, feeding, sigil stones, Mojo, and Newheim the Portly have in common?  Perusing the wife’s blog and thought to pose such question to those who may be video game acclaimed.

Good night now.

It has been sometime…

Posted by thecrookedmailbox on 24 January 2008

Five classes this semester allows little time to visit the blogoshpere.  For the most part I am comfortable with my course load.  It is mostly reading and writing, which thankfully, I am best at.  Oh, and I get to attend two plays!  Yes, Introduction to Theater.  I really enjoy my professor for this class.  She is great at engaging your attention.

Tuesdays and Thursdays retain (3) one-hour and 15 minute classes.  It is, I must confess, a bit tiresome to be in class that long.  Especially when you have the “know-it-all”.  Oh, don’t pretend ignorance on this subject.  You know what I am talking about…the person who seems to believe they know more than the professor and decides to challenge the class as if it were his own.  (I must be politically correct…he/she…because I have seen both).  I love History, but if this particular person will not silence, I think I might end up hating the course.  I do wonder, what is it that inhibits professors to annihilate students?  The one thing I do agree with is what my professor said…America is full of contradictions….professorship being one of them…

Question of the Day

Posted by thecrookedmailbox on 16 January 2008

What is drunkenness?

I am not talking about the modern day psychological perspective because honestly, I don’t trust that.  How can a person define drunkenness according to a Biblical standard?  Does anyone know?

How do we know that persons of biblical times didn’t drink mead all day, or wine?  What exactly does the Bible mean when it says drunkenness?

I’m a travelin’ fool!

Posted by thecrookedmailbox on 14 January 2008

That was my first blogger name.  After having returned from this trip, I think it a better title than the one I have now.  On the way back my husband and I were comparing how many states we had visited, lived in since we were born.  Here are the results:

Laura:  (lived in) Nevada, Wyoming, California, New Mexico, Texas, Idaho, Oregon.

Dennis: (lived in) California, Idaho

Places we have visited:  Idaho, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, Mexico….I think that’s it…

How many places have you been?

ADDITION:  Which is your favorite place?  I would say mine is Texas.  The customer service just can’t be beat!
